Chief Science Officers at Western Middle School (Bay City Public Schools, Michigan) planned a STEM day for over 300, 6th graders on March 29th. Students rotated through STEMonstrations that were organized and taught by 8th grade Honors Science students throughout the day. Many different hands-on Science topics were highlighted. Some crowd favorites were making ice cream, lava lamps, oobleck, and watching fun chemical reactions.

The funds for most of the supplies for the STEMonstrations were provided by two mini-grants written by the CSO students at WMS. Fun recycled CSO STEM Day pencils and fortune fish were also handed out as giveaways to all 6th graders, advertising the Chief Science Office Program.
